no keepalive number
number Number of seconds that defines the keepalive interval. The interval must be set as a positive integer that is less than the interval set on the switch.
To enable the Local Management Interface (LMI) mechanism for serial lines using Frame Relay encapsulation, use the keepalive interface configuration command. Use the no form of this command to disable this capability. The keepalive command enables the keepalive sequence, which is part of the Local Management Interface (LMI) protocol. When booting from a network server over Frame Relay, you might need to disable keepalives.
The following example sets the keepalive timer on the server for a period that is two or three seconds faster (shorter interval) than the interval set on the keepalive timer of the Frame Relay switch. The difference in keepalive intervals ensures proper synchronization between the Cisco server and the Frame Relay switch.
Router(config)#interface serial 0/0 Router(config-if)#keepalive 8
