Syntax:
stopbits {1 | 1.5 | 2 } 

no stopbits


Syntax Description:

1 One stop bit
1.5  One and one-half stop bits
2 Two stop bits

Command Description:

Communication protocols provided by devices such as terminals and modems often require a specific stop-bit setting. To set the number of the stop bits transmitted per byte, use the stopbits line configuration command. Use the no form of the command to restore the default value of 2.


Example:
The following example changes the default from 2 stop bits to 1 as a performance enhancement:
Router(config-line)#stopbits  1
