Syntax:

media-type {aui | 10baset | 100baset | mii}

no media-type {aui | 10baset | 100baset | mii}


Syntax Description:

aui

Selects an AUI 15-pin physical connection. This is the default on Cisco 4000 series routers.

10baset

Selects an R-J45 10BASE-T physical connection.

100baset

Specifies an RJ-45 100BASE-T physical connection. This is the default on Cisco 7000 series and Cisco 7200 series routers.

mii

Specifies a media-independent interface.


Command Description:

To specify the physical connection on an Ethernet interface, use the media-type interface configuration command. Use the no form of this command to restore the default value.


Example:
Router(config)#int ethernet 0
Router(config-if)#media-type 10BaseT
