Command:

input-queue

Mode:

Router(config-router)#

Syntax:

input-queue depth
no input-queue [depth]

Syntax Description:

depth Numerical value associated with the depth of the RIP input queue. The larger the numerical value, the larger the depth of the queue. The range is from 0 to 1024.

Command Description:

To adjust the depth of the Routing Information Protocol (RIP) input queue, use the input-queue command in router configuration mode. To remove the configured depth and restore the default depth, use the no form of this command.

The default is 50.

Consider using the input-queue command if you have a high-end router sending at high speed to a low-speed router that might not be able to receive at the high speed. Configuring this command will help prevent the routing table from losing information.

Example:

The following example sets the depth of the RIP input queue to 100:

Router(config-router)# input-queue 100
