You can specify up to 16 privilege levels, using numbers 0 through 15. Level 1 is normal EXEC-mode user privileges. If this argument is not specified, the privilege level defaults to level 15 (traditional enable privileges).
To exit privileged EXEC mode and return to user EXEC mode, enter the disable EXEC command. Use this command with the level option to reduce the user-privilege level. If a level is not specified, it defaults to the user EXEC mode, which is level 1.
The disable and exit commands are often confused. Exit is thought to return to the previous prompt. However from the privilege exec prompt, exit will terminate the session. To return to the previous mode (user exec), use disable.
